The DIY Era and Your Home Business
There are many ways to help the planet and reduce our impact on the earth without having to install solar panels or a wind turbine on the top of your home. Although those are excellent ways to lower your energy bills and in some places even contribute to the grid, they are not always an option.
DIY Recycling Tips
Recycling, re-using and up-cycling are some excellent ways to re-purpose products and materials that come into our life every day.
It is a significant way to control the amount of waste that enters the landfills, as well as leaving a decreased carbon footprint with a smaller amount of greenhouse gas emissions out of your home.
Recently there has been global widespread interest in DIY, or do-it-yourself. Its roots started with people crafting for centuries back when it was always DIY. The realization is that being green and environmentally conscious has formulated a huge up-rise in makers making.
All manner of inventors and innovators, artists and designers, crafters and artisans are being recognized for all the most innovative and sustainable techniques that man has ever known. They make things with the things they save and the things they re-use.
There are endless possibilities for wearable art and cool green gadgets for saving energy and living with an understanding that what we consume affects the planet.
‘Re-Usable’ and ‘Up-Cycling’ are relatively new terms and it seems to have its crossovers indeed into Arts & Crafts (another loosely descriptive term), and Art making in general.
The actual descriptions, while still being formulated and allowed interpretation, have given way to an ernest desire to fend for ourselves as much as we can; our own bags, our own farms, no matter where we live, we will make the planet stronger while at the same time give us a creative outlet. Be creative and all shall be well. Use what we consume. It makes perfect sense: create = live.
We have seen how incredible projects and collaborations of all earthly materials do bring us together as a race. It reaches far into the desert at summers end and is always around us, every day. But alas the dividing boarders and politics put it all out of perspective. We continue to take from the land more than we give back, and although we make a valiant effort to plants trees there seems to be factors out of our control.
Recycling and re-using is a great way to use what we have already processed, in the most economical way. Sustainable is a hopeful term that helps us see a better cycle of usefulness. Taking and giving back simultaneously. We see every day that when you provide for the planet, she provides back.
The recycling, up-cycling and re-using of earth’s resources has a hand in many industries including fashion, art, education, commerce, and basic environmental survival and has contributed to a new Green Era!
Recycling and your home business
Another way to conserve resources while allowing yourself to become financially independent is by working from home. The thought may be overwhelming for some of people, especially for the ‘housewife’ or the ‘stay at home mom’ (or in some cases, the stay-at-home-dads) but the truth is there are people out there who are willing to give you a hand and help you make a good start.
